Inlays and Onlays

 

Inlays or onlays are recommended when decay has progressed too far to do a composite filling or an existing filling fractures. In order to retain as much of the original tooth as possible, we use a lab-made or machine-made porcelain filling. Inlays and onlays are bonded into place and help strengthen the tooth but are more conservative than a full coverage crown.
